Alright, so you've created your character. He/she now gets off the train and ends up in the Mysims town where your sim heads to the Mayor's house. Now, you go talk to her and she talks about the town and welcomes you. She'll then walk you around and bring you to the lot where you'll build and place your very own house! Once finished, head back to the Mayor's house and speak with her again. Now, she'll bring you to the lot where you'll build your Workshop. The Workshop is used to build many objects from tasks you receive from other Sims in the game and also create your own with your imagination. After that she'll show you to the little planting area to the North East where you'll see a few trees. She'll talk to you about how to plant them, etc which you can't read since it IS in Japanese.
